This course is designed to introduce Florida contractors to the basics of Florida’s Workers’ Compensation Law: it covers the need and purpose of the law, indicates conditions under which coverage is required by law and who qualifies for exemption: outlines the typical coverage types available and defines compensable injuries, indicates what actions should be taken by the contractor after an accident occurs, how benefits are calculated, and establishes the importance of return-to-work programs.
