This course is designed to provide licensed contractors with a thorough understanding of accessibility guidelines outlined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), to aid in designing and retrofitting residential homes for “Aging in Place” and “Universal Design”; a movement that allows elderly and disabled home-owners to remain independently in their own homes, in opposition to moving to an adult-care facility.
