This course is designed to provide Engineers with a thorough understanding of the diversity of mechanical fastenings used in wood construction and how to understand that the strength of connections is related to the species of wood, the strength of the fastener, the direction & duration of load and the conditions of use. This course will also teach how to apply engineering judgment for many aspects of single & multiple-fastened connections.
