Continuing Education Requirements
The State of Florida requires 14 hours of board-approved Continuing Education each biennium prior to the renewal period.
- Renewal for Certified Contractors occurs August 31st of every even year.
- Renewal for Registered Contractors occurs August 31st of every odd year.
The 14 hours of Continuing Education must include:
- (1) hour of Workplace Safety
- (1) hour of Business Practices
- (1) hour of Workers' Compensation
- (1) hour of Advanced Florida Building Code
- (1) hour of Laws and Rules Regulating the Construction Industry
- (1) hour of Wind Mitigation Methodologies
- (8) hours of General Credits — any classes approved by the board
